Epitrapezio 2016

EPITRAPEZIO is an annual game design contest for board games since 2010 held in Athens, Greece. Designers must register their games till the first week of February. The goal of the contest is to create an environment where new designers can present and evolve their ideas. Before our main event (in May) smaller local events take place as an open playtesting invitation to boardgame lovers in Greece in order to help our contestants evolve and finalize their designs. The final judgement and results take place at the end of May on an open Board game Festival where visitors can play the contested games and exhibitors present their new works.

This event was created to help new designers present their ideas to public as well as the public to see closer the development of a board game, playtest it and contribute to the whole process with constructive feedback. It is not just new ideas but also a place where gamers and non gamers come closer and play different games. This is getting even better since some of those games end up to publishers. The last years there is a variety of board games from Greece that have been published and some of them reached other countries as well.
